The Marc de Montalembert 2023 Prize is awarded to Dr. Nadine Atallah, Franco-Egyptian, PhD in Art History from the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, associate researcher at the InVisu laboratory (CNRS/INHA) and professor of history and theory of arts at the École Européenne Supérieure d’Art de Bretagne in Rennes.
The prize crowns a brilliant career and it will allow the winner to extend her research on visual artists in Egypt in the 20th century.
The Prize supports her research on “The contradictory allegiances of Inji Efflatoun (1924-1989). Trajectory of a militant artist through 20th century Egypt”. The École du Louvre Research Centre will provide its support throughout 2023.
